 SECO/WARWICK’s Furnaces and Atmospheres for Today’s Technology Seminar,
Sept. 8-10, provides information and best practices for heat treating equipment.  Heat Treating equipment configurations and processes are explained with best practice information to provide information for purchasing, operating and maintaining equipment.  The program covers the vital furnace design and plant management options that enable attendees to evaluate equipment options for a wide variety of heat treat furnaces and atmospheres.

SECO/WARWICK is pleased to host Dan Herring one of the best recognized experts in our industry.    Dan will be our featured guest speaker as he discusses the future of heat treating in North America and how the business will evolve into the future.  He will include his insight on heat treating expertise answering the three basic questions - Who has it?  Where is it?  Where will it be?  Dan will talk about tools and techniques for meeting new quality standards, training and education along with meeting the challenge of keeping heat treating affordable.

About The Heat Treat Doctor

Professor Daniel H. Herring, “The Heat Treat Doctor” is an active member of the engineering, materials and metallurgical community. His undergraduate work was done at the University of Illinois (1971) and graduate work at the Illinois Institute of Technology (1974).

Mr. Herring spent over twenty-five years working for furnace equipment manufacturers (Lindberg, C. I. Hayes Inc., Ipsen International). He has have held key positions of at each of these companies including Chief Metallurgist and Chief Engineer (Lindberg), Corporate Metallurgist (C. I. Hayes), and Director of Research & Development and New Business Development (Ipsen International). His experience includes Staff, Executive, and Corporate positions in metallurgy, engineering, international marketing, sales, research and development, and new product and business development.

The author of over one hundred seventy-five (175) published papers and three (3) books, Mr. Herring is a frequent lecturer at local, national, and international conferences and is dedicated to advancing the state of the art in the thermal processing field. He is an active member of a number of Technical Societies including ASM International, APMI International, SAE International, SME, AGMA, and is a member of the American Gas Association (AGA) “Hall of Flame”.

Mr. Herring’s credentials include being a Research Associate Professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology/Thermal Processing Technology Center and Consulting Technical Editor and monthly columnist for Industrial Heating Magazine.

Mr. Herring is President of The HERRING GROUP, Inc. a business offering Professional Support Services to Industry. Since 1995 Mr. Herring’s company has specialized in, Consulting Services (heat treatment & metallurgy), Technical Services (industrial education/training, & process/equipment assistance), Marketing Services (marketing studies & new product launches), and Business Services (focused problem solving/customer assistance) in the Heat Treating and Sintering Industries.
