The walking beam equipment is used for cutter blade hardening in the sugar cane in industry
SECO/WARWICK delivered a small walking beam furnace for the sugar cane industry. The furnace runs at a temperature of max 950°C and is heated by SiC (silicon carbide) heating elements. In a two zone temperature control 600 blades per hour (about 300 to 540 kg/h) are processed. The furnace is embedded in existing customer equipment with an customized PLC interface between the process equipment that feeds and unfeeds the furnace.
