SECO/WARWICK will deliver a CAB line for a European manufacturer of car radiators. This is one of SECO/WARWICK’s most important customers with whom the Group has been cooperating globally for 22 years. At this time, SECO/WARWICK has delivered nearly 20 unique solutions in the field of metal heat treatment to plants around the world.
“This is a key Partner who trusted us for the first time 22 years ago. During this time, we have provided the Partner with equipment which has allowed them to develop their factories in Europe, Asia and both Americas. The current order will go to France. This order is for an aluminum brazing furnace adapted to the production of oversized battery coolers. The EV/CAB line with a belt width of 2100 mm is designed to produce oversized battery coolers. It consists of a preheating and main heating chamber, a radiation brazing furnace, an air jacket cooling chamber, a final cooling chamber and a control system,” says Piotr Skarbiński, Vice President of the Aluminum and CAB Product Segment at SECO/WARWICK.
The key to the successful production of battery coolers is excellent temperature uniformity across the entire belt width. The SECO/WARWICK line guarantees maintenance of this parameter, making it one of the most popular solutions in the automotive sector.
Sustainable development and future technologies
In addition, the furnace’s unique design allows for quick modifications, and allows the Partner to switch from gas to electric heating, which will enable the Partner to operate with low CO2 emissions. In order to meet the climate change challenges, the SECO/WARWICK EV/CAB line has been designed in such a way that full electric heating can be used in the future. Thanks to this, not only was there the opportunity to reduce operating costs by using natural gas, but in addition, options were included for switching to more ecological energy sources in the future. This project was developed together with the Partner during many tests conducted on behalf of the customer’s German and Czech branches.
